PREPARATION
Is it really necessary to spend so much time preparing for ministry?

Gods' Response
In early autumn, when the Israelites had settled in their towns, all the people assembled in Jerusalem with a unified purpose... The people hired masons and carpenters and bought cedar logs. The logs were brought down from the Lebanon mountains and floated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea of Joppa, for King Cyrus had given permission for this. The construction of the Temple of God began in mid spring, during the second year after they arrived in Jerusalem
Ezra 3:1, 7-8

Our Takeaway
It took seven months just to prepare to rebuild the Temple. The exiles took so much time to make plans and prepare because the project was so important to them.

If you're in the process of preparing for what God has asked you to do, the time spent in preparation may not feel heroic or spiritual, but its is vital to doing any project well.

God's Challenge
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else.
